Answer to Lockers
The key to this is realizing that some numbers have different numbers of factors. Prime numbers, for example, have only two factors, so, if they start closed, 1 opens them, and then the number itself closes it. You'll notice that every single number between 1 and 1000 has an even number of factors, except those numbers which are multiples of the same number (i.e. 3 x 3, 4 x 4, etc.). Looking at 16, its factors are 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16. 1 x 16 = 16, 2 x 8 = 16, and 4 x 4 = 16. But 4 only goes through the lockers once! These numbers are also known as square numbers.

The answer answer to your question Flatlander Fox is NOTHING

and here is the next riddle.

Prisoners
There are three convicts in a room, each one sentenced to life imprisonment. The judge says that he will set one free, if he can guess the color hat he is wearing. The bailiff brings in 5 hats, 3 of which are black, and the other two are white. Blindfolding the prisoners, he puts one hat on each prisoner's head, positioning them such that a prisoner can't see what color cap he's got on, and removes the extra two from the room. He then takes off the prisoners' blindfolds. Each prisoner can see only the color hat that his two companions are wearing, and not his own. After 10 minutes, one of the prisoners stands up and says, "I've got it!" What color hat does he and the other two convincts have on?

Check out these Six Anglo-Saxon Riddles on my home website.
All of these riddles are over 1000 years old.
How many can you get right before looking at the answers?

People who make it don't buy it.

People who buy it don't use it.

People who use it don't know it.

What is it?

Listen, strange women lying around in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system government.

Here is the answer to Prisoners
All three prisoners are wearing black hats. Let's examine the cases: If two prisoners were wearing white hats, the one wearing the black hat would know immediately that that's the color he's wearing. If you looked and saw one with a white hat and one with a black hat, and all three were just sitting there, you'd know that you weren't wearing a white hat (otherwise one of the other prisoners would jump up). But this would only take you about a minute to figure out. If you looked around and saw two black hats, and nobody jumped up after 45 seconds (assuming a certain intelligence of your comrades), then you'd know that you were wearing a black hat, as well.

Here's a simple one to start you all out. Make 4,4,4,4,4 = 22 How? You can use each four only once and you can use it any way you want. You can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or whatever but make sure you only use each four once.

I just found this thread, but my answer is a bit different:

SQRT(4) + SQRT(4) + 4*4 + SQRT(4) = 22

or

44*SQRT(4/4*4) = 22
