IF you have a Radeon or GeForce3 Video Card Dont Buy Civ 3!!

I've been on the phone with tech support twice today. They say that there is nothing they can do to make the game work on a computer with those vid cards. Some get through the intro vids and some don't but either way they throw you into windows and perform illegal operations that demand closing the application. I'm ticked off. I spend 3 years waiting for Civ 3 and 50 bucks and kaput...it's a no-go. THey say I have to sit tight until Infogrames releases a patch.

Tons of games are having problems with those cards. I've found switching to the 12.41 Nvidia drivers usualy fixes the problem. You may want to try that.

I plan buying a new graphic card... So what works with CIVIII (64mb). Was planning to get an Nvidia!

its running just fine.

So I would suggest that you buy the game and give it a shot.
