Took a lot of work! Glad its done. :)

Pretty good Dutchking.

Nice model - but I would work on the skin some. The seams in the pannels (the blank lines) are too pronounced. Make them more subtle, and give them a greenish tint to help them blend in. The rear turret is also miss-alligned with the texture. The cockpit could also use some attention, the windows are a little dark, and the lines between the sections of glass are very blurry.

A good technique I learned was to make every section of glass in the UV correspond to the same image on the texture. You can see the images below if I haven't described it well enough.

Again, nice work, it just needs a little improvement. :goodjob:

Thanks for the suggestions and comments Smitty. :) I'll work on that in my next piece of work art. :p
(I'd edit it on this one but I kinda like it this way :hmm: )

Very good, though it does look like it about to fall apart at the seams. :p But nice model. :)

What do you mean GM? I don't see any wings flying off... :p
All suggestions are still welcome, considering this is my 3rd unit and I'm still a noob with units. :p

Well just as Smitty said about the lines being kind of thick, it gives the impression of big gaps in the plane. :p

Well, once you have your model, (you can modify the jet fighter in blender), you can export a template from nifskope, and if you have any skills with photoshop or gimp, you can do anything! :)
I'm busy with WWII stuff requested by gaius right now, but if I get any spare time I'll do it if asio doesn't want to. ;) Of course asio wants to though of course. ;)

Great unit, nicely done. I'm glad that tut i linked comed in handy :)

I experimented with blueprints blending and imo best effects are when:
I copy blueprint layer 2-3 times.
First layer - i blur blueprint with gaussian blur much so it leavs delicate smudges and simulates dirt. I set layer opacity to 30%
Second layer - gaussian blur but weaker effect. layer opacity around 20%
Thir layer i don't blur (or at least just a little bit) and i set transpaerncy to 12%
You can make additional blueprint layer with brighter color - wich can simulate 3D - but i can't handle it well yet.

This makes nice blending of panels.

I tried it in my newest model Liberator (U-2 was modeled earlier) and this makes a life easier indeed and makes glasses apearing nicely on the model.
Thx for that tip snafusmith :)

dutchking or asio

I saw the TUT but will it help me make this? Or better yet can I request it ;)

Every new mechanical unit i start with this :)It's very hard to model from scratch. Making model from blueprints makes modelling much more easier and faster - it's like road-map in 3D world. It can also be used later for making texture.

My to do list is very long right now - a lot of stuff for 1939 (U-2 was requested 1,5 month ago, even i moved it in queue and gave it bigger priority) - luckly i could remove from list this japanese bombers :)

Dutchking - If you would like to make this unit feel free to make it :)

If you can wait around 2 months i can make it for you. Even Wolfshanze wich is always in hurry waits for Fallschirmjaeger :p

You can also try to make it - GM nicely explains in C&C forum how to start with blender and gmax :). And believe me it's worthy of that frustration during learning in the begining - the modelling is real great fun. And with every new unit experience will grow and units would be more and more beautiful

Asio speaks the truth! My to do list is a bit long too but I can find some spare time on a weekend to make it if you don't want to try ekmek. :)

thanks guys. I tried messing with it but units is a bit tougher than leaderheaders. I was trying with the F-22 out there and using blender's edit mode to move polygons around. it was just ugly. If you can do it dutchking I'd appreciate it. I have to take a modding break for a few weeks (need to focus on school again unfortunately) If you can get the shape that'll be enough, skining I don't think will be necessary (plenty of gray skin out there).
