It's been about a year and a half since I have visted the forum. I just didn't have time to keep up anymore. I was still playing my Civ II MGE during my absence, but recently I finally went out and got Civ III. I'm still playing my first game, but I must say I like most of the changes. One thing I'm having trouble getting used to is figuring out which squares I have roads/railroads in. With the new look of both the squares and the roads, I have often sent a worker to build roads in a square only to find I had already done that. Anyway, all that to say hi to those who were already here in the summer of 2001 (if any of you are still around). I may not post much, but I'm hoping to check out the posts to help me in adjusting my gameplay to the new version.

You can d/l the Civ2 style Railroads and put them in your grahics folder. There are instructions how to do this in the zip file.

You could also edit the pcx file to make the roads darker. I forget the name of the program I use, but they're easy to find.

    have fun with Civ3. . . it's a blast.
