that was the turning point. i was going to sue for peace after sacking that city, but before i could, the japs started getting other AIs to fight me. eventually i was fighting all 15 AIs except one. they finally landed calvaries to crush my spearmen (no iron on the entire island). i was too backwards and poor to even sue for peace, so i gave up
