Anyone who's been in the OT forum lately has surely seen the image replies that are being used lately. Whether it's responding to a spammer or someone who you disagree with, or whatever ... there are replies for all ocassions.

Am I the only one who doesn't like it? I'm not asking for a ruling on their constitutionality or anything ... just wondering what people think of them.

They can be humorous, but like most things will get over used, then a mod will have to introduce a new rule, then everyone will forget about them for a while, then people will start using them again, then a mod will be forced to introduce a new rule, then......

What do you mean? Do you mean like a one-smilie post, or when people actually put a picture?

Like when rmsharpe posted bridges in troll threads?

Not smilies. The bridges, the thumbs down with the words "BAN HIM", arguing on the internet vs winning the special olympics, etc. Pictures with (not so) clever little captions.

They were funny at first, but they get old very fast. Right now I find them mildly annoying.

instead of replying to spam-posters you could just remain silent, I think it would hurt those spammers most if nobody replied to their thrads.

Exactly. It was great when they came out of nowhere, and hit you. Now it seems everyone is overusing them, especially in spam threads... :(

Of course no one should be posting in spam threads as Chieftess pointed out...

actually I think they're funny but in fact I never use them, they feed the spammers
but you must accept, is hard to ignore them :crazyeye:
