Imageshack problems?

Fromt ime to time some of my (large collection of) pics seem to get erased, or not show up at any rate, then sometimes they come back. I am not a registered member.
Anyone else has this problem? Would you recommend another image hosting site as a better alternative to imageshack?

Imageshack isn't 100% reliable over the long term. But I don't know of any that are any better. Pics are usually good for a couple of years there. And I've had a lot of experience with pics loaded to the net. If it's for your own use you might try Photobucket. IS is better for putting pics on a website.

Imageshack is pretty lousy and has been for years imo (too many ads for one thing), I use photobucket (which is okay) and imgur.

I've still got pictures from 2005 that i have uploaded to imageshack. but i do have some missing pictures, but it is still pretty good.

Well this is the +10K posts club, and not a regular thread

I will see if Photobucket or Imgur are better, since i need those pics to stay for years because they are previews of art for civ3

Over multiple years I've never seen a host that was more reliable than IS. And I block all the ads so never have to deal with them. But no host is entirely reliable over several years, so you always need to keep the pics for reloading as necessary.

Photobucket has never deleted any of my photos afaik, you just have to remember to keep your account active (which isn't hard).

imgur is really good, but images might get removed if they don't get at least 1 view for 3 months (so just look at your pictures every now and then I guess ).

You should always keep a backup of the images on your computer and other storage devices of course.

Not at 10k+ posts, but I've found Photobucket pretty good.
