I imagine perfect game where all aspect of gameing would be implemented.Turn based strategy(like Civilization) and when you go to war with some one you are in RTS world(like "World in Conflict") and if you like you can take control of any unit in battlefield in FPS way(like Battlefield,Operation Flashpoint,etc...).THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!
Tell me me yours opinion on that subject

That would be ... an abomination. Sorry. I can't think of a better word to describe my feeling. The thought alone of someone diluting and blemishing one of the top five games I ever played with elements of the two kinds of games I like least, and introduce a "twitch factor" into the formula of Civ playing, makes me shudder. *Please* no. Sorry for my strong reaction, but that's how I feel.

Civ is a game where I can have lunch mulling over the possible aspects of warrior attacking a lion. There's not RTS aspect in it, there's no concept of "not enough time to think". No, I don't play MP where turn timers or simultaneous turns can happen.

The wartime philosophy of turn based strategy and FPS are complete opposites. The whole point of war in Civ 4 is that the stronger side will win, defenders have an advantage, and one soldier doesn't mean much (if anything).

Like other have said, since those game style each have different gamer personality, the only way this could work would be a kind new GEN MMO...hehe. Like the civers are the great Colonel and its 1 turn a day. And the RTS player (great general) are in queue to fight schelduled battle... And for the FPS hmm, they are in queue for doing the spy mission...hehe.

So that would be kind of....one game to rule them all!!

i could not agree more.

You should try the Total War series (Rome, Medieval, etc.) It's a lot like Civ with RTS battles (no FPS tho).

Thamis who gave us the ancient Mediterainian mod has been employed in the making of Empire total War.

It's the next total war game and will include naval battles and 3D RTS battles. The difference is that Thamis is working on the diplomacy, which is horrific in the total war series. If he implements diplomacy even half as good as Civ, then that will be close to what you're asking about. The roleplay FPS part is harder to throw in there. You have to use your imagination.

Or a game where you control everything from diplomacy, war, politics etc. like in Civ, and you have to do all the stuff down to the last citizen like in The Sims each turn.

Having RTS battles would be awesome, as anyone who has played Rome Total War can attest. The game shouldn't FORCE you to play every battle in RTS mode, ie you can still fight out your battles rock-paper-scissors style using stats and probabilities but... the choice to duke it out in RTS mode makes it possible to win battles against the odds by relying on your skills, not some dice. This will make warfare in Civ 100000x times more interesting. I don't think most people who disagree with this see how boring war in Civ really is.

I'd like to see the civ franchise team up with super mario. Ive already thought of one wonder that you could build. A giant mushroom! When you build it every city in your empire grows to twice the size, like, literally twice it's physical size.

Hope this helps Feanor!

Don't get me wrong. All I want to see in future of CIV games is new aspects.
But never mind.My greatest wish is that someone create game with Zombies(George Romero style) in enviroment like GTA IV and graphic & physics of Half Life 2.Games are getting boring. No one have made FPS with WW2 thematic that would happen in former Yugoslavia during WW2-THAT would be interesting.I am sick tired of French countryside. And why no one make simulation of concentration camp. They say it is not political corect(in games) but it is allright to invade & slaughter people in other countries in real world.Illuminati's manipulation

I think not having to play RTS battle benefits me more. I can use my strategic skills in assessing the need for different types of units in my stacks, as well as number and size of stacks, then use them to attack. If my strategy is right, I win. But if I had to fight RTS-style, I could easily lose even if I had a winning army.

I would rather see an Strategy/FPS type game appear in the Mechwarrior universe, which already has games of each type appearing in the genre, and has a pretty solid premise to support either game type.

For all of you complete nay-sayers, I agree that doing this type of thing in Civ would be akin to sticking your finger in a socket with your feet in a puddle, but I remember a rather good Half Life mod which had one player building the units, and the other players controlling them - quite a good mod, which I unfortunately cannot remember the name of... But it blended strategy elements and FPS elements very well - just in a multiplayer setting, not a single player.

I don't get why you'd have such a negative reaction to the inclusion of concentration camps, considering the game already allows slavery as a civic and the enslaving of enemy workers. I could understand being put off by the suggestion of including death camps, but concentration camps seem fine if they could be implemented in a way that would enhance the game.

I personally think that combining all those different gaming types would make the game very tedious and unfocused, whether you like playing the other types or not.

I accept their economic reasons like less sales and all that, but not including controversial things like concentration camps and Hitler is just wimpy and pathetic. I am waiting for the day when WWII is going to be far back in the past that people can talk about it in an ordinary way without getting emotional all the time.
