anyone know if there is such a tool? iirc there was a working one for civ4?

would be cool if there was a working one for civ5, much simpler for making maps (continents, outlines, etc) as compared to using the worldbuilder (better for fine tuning)

edit: nevermind, found http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=135740 and noticed worldbuilder can load up old civ4 stuff :)

Let us know if that solution works for you without problems.

Currently, I'm using a grid system to copy and paint accurate maps. It takes me a while to do it, so if there's a quicker way to make identically accurate maps then let me know.

Thanks

it's almost perfect. i've loaded up some old maps i've made and I only had to redo a couple of rivers and a few tiles (hex) here and there

What about this BMP conversion tool mentioned above? How accurate is that?

i havent used it yet for a new civ5 map, but what i remember from it, it transforms 1 pixel into a terrain tile/hex based on color (among other neat features). from there on you convert the bmp into a civ4 map, then into a civ5 map with worldbuilder
