I had this start position (on Small Continents).
I'm basically on the wrong side of the mountains.
It took me the whole Ancient era just to discover Shipbuilding in order to send a Settler on the other side.
(I went Sailing -> Pottery -> Writing, built a Library next to the two Mountain tiles, hired Pingala and finally got Shipbuilding almost at the end of the Ancient Era.
I wonder if this is a bug in the start position generation.
