Improved Tech Tree

Here's a revised techtree I had originally created for Civ3 - but which could be easily adapted for this new game. This would of course be used for an Ancient Times type of mod. In every iteration of Civilization so far there was one so I'm calling all those interested in that period to help me out. I'm pretty sure we can increase the Tree without problem but as of now I don't have a precise idea of all the cross-reference between the various XML files.

There were some techs in this that marked the change of eras which is no longer necessary with Civ 4. There is also a clear difference between those applied techs and those more general and/or philosophical. After perusing it quickly I can see where the civics could be tied into it.

Specific questions: is it possible to add resources (opium, slaves and such) ?

And yesterday I did find that there exist prereqs variable covering more than just techs - which is nice since in theory it will be possible to link Monarchy, for instance, not only to the preceding tech but also resources & buildings etc.

Anyhow have a look at it and let me know if there's an interest.

EDIT: it won't take my upload for some reason  Well it looks as if I can't - anyway go there an it's attached in that thread. --> http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/t-46683.html

One issue with the tech tree which really needs to be modded/patched in is the inclusion of the tech tree viewer via the Civilopedia. It sort of sucks that you can't view the techs in the same manner as you can while playing.

I'm on a mission to correct the default tech tree. For example, if you select Feudalism you'll notice that it requires Writing, however there is not an arrow depicting that. It's not a huge game-breaking problem, but just a small pet-peeve of mine. If a tech requires another tech that an arrow should point to it, IMO. :p

low there's an icon in the top right of the tech that shows that it's required. Problably made it that way to avoid having arrows going all over the place :p
