Here's a revised techtree I had originally created for Civ3 - but which could be easily adapted for this new game. This would of course be used for an Ancient Times type of mod. In every iteration of Civilization so far there was one so I'm calling all those interested in that period to help me out. I'm pretty sure we can increase the Tree without problem but as of now I don't have a precise idea of all the cross-reference between the various XML files.
There were some techs in this that marked the change of eras which is no longer necessary with Civ 4. There is also a clear difference between those applied techs and those more general and/or philosophical. After perusing it quickly I can see where the civics could be tied into it.
Specific questions: is it possible to add resources (opium, slaves and such) ?
And yesterday I did find that there exist prereqs variable covering more than just techs - which is nice since in theory it will be possible to link Monarchy, for instance, not only to the preceding tech but also resources & buildings etc.
Anyhow have a look at it and let me know if there's an interest.
EDIT: it won't take my upload for some reason
Well it looks as if I can't - anyway go there an it's attached in that thread. --> http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/t-46683.html
