This mod reduces the size of improvement(farms, mines, etc) files to about 9kb each. This makes the game load improvements quicker and seeing how a large nation can have a very large number of improvements this can reduce lag. Though lag is only reduced a small amount, I figured every little bit counts. The actual graphics in game still look the same, it's just the file size that has changed.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS MAY NOT BE PERFECT AND HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON MY COMPUTER. Please tell me if anything goes wrong in your game.
Just place the civ5mod file into your mods folder, if that doesn't work than unzip the 7zip file and place it into the mods folder.
Farms have been taken out because they cause crashes when removing them from a tile, but I think it's still happening. I'm working as quickly as possible to fix it. For now do this:
1)Visit this site- http://wiki.2kgames.com/civ5/index.php/Nexus_Tool -follow steps 1-4
2)Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Resource (may be different for your computer)
3)Backup either the DX9 file, OR backup the DDS files that have the same names as the DDS files in my mod.
4)Drag and drop the DDS files from my mod into the DX9 folder, overwrite the exisiting files.
I want to thank Nutty for showing me the programs to use, it would have taken forever without them. I do plan on reducing file sizes for units and terrain.
