I've been playing the civ series for a while now, and I started playing IV about 2 weeks ago. I've only played the original version with no expansions/mods.
Right now I like doing 10 persons on single continent with Agressive AI/Warlord conquest/domination games with Greeks, or maybe Spanish in diplomatic.
So I've learned up to the first 3/4 tech's, buildings, units and how to properly expand my civilization and so on. But what I lack in is prioritizing what to make, like my last game I was greeks and I got 2 early settlers and took over a bunch of those nifty gold/beaver resources up north and the flood plains, ocean early on. But then ended up having to build workers in all my cities simultaneously..
Also in the start of the match I know it's entirely dependant on to many factors in the game but is it usually better to rush more shields in your city and build scouts then get barb camps or is it better to rush food and grow?
Anyway yeah
edit: ONE more question.
Is there a competitive scene at all? It seems there might be now that there are custom mods a lot of things can be worked out, like the randomness with barbarian tribes.
