Indeo Help

Help! I really want to play my Civ2 gold on my new windows xp computer. I read all the posts and they say to download Indeo. Is there anyway to do this w/o spending the $15?? I tried downloading WinG, but it didn't help. When i put i the CD the main screen pops up but when I hit "install" it closes and no install window comes up. It's driving me crazy! Please help asap!!
