There is an Indian Catapult near (undefended) Monks Towne. They are enthusiastic towards us.

It will cost 166g to bribe, out of 379g available.

Our available choices are to ignore it, bribe it, or negotiate for it to leave. So would a catapult be useful to us, or do we need the money elsewhere? (eg near Bactra)

Discuss and vote! Poll open 3 days.

Negotiate, if they are emthusiastic they SHOULD agree to remove it. And if they don't we can immobilize it by moving the diplomat to 85,47

The diplo on 91,45 btw is fortified on a non-roaded square. I suggest moving it to 88,42. That would decrease it's "response time" to reach several of our cities including Monks Towne if needed.

Just noticed after I wrote this we are building a diplomat in Hipsheim next turn, seems to be diplos everywhere in this game :crazyeye: Anyway, just keep one of them close and use one to block the catapult. I don't think loosing a diplo would hurt us that bad if they sneak attacked and we will keep our good reputation :)

Bribe, Bribe!, Bribe the Catapult, rehome it in Monks Towne, and ship it north to blast the city walls of Trondheim. Ignore the ship.
Also, Uppsala Barracks could build a Catapult. That would give us a Vet blast, then the Indian Cat blast, then enough Crusaders to storm The Lighthouse of Trondheim and also throw them into civil disorder. We'll need plenty of Dips and $cash ready to eliminate the Vikings and secure that island. Hence, the foreign trade caravans, RC to India.

Btw, the Dip at 91,45 Wine is on a Road. I agree it could be better placed. How about N to River 91,43? We need more roads down there, first thing after Celebration irrigation.

The Hips Dip will escort the Neuma Sett, now North of Monks Towne, to go found Lone Bison (teeny island) so Neuma can grow. Neuma is an important city, low corruption, River and ocean with forest.

Bribing the Cat will affect the LC celebration (Iron serf to road). So temporarily, keep the LC Caravel in Cymru Straits. That's easy, there is no Caravan to ship yet anyway. We need a Dip down there, then the LC Caravel can sail to explore the Great West Ocean.
The Cy Caravel is delivering units w Dip to the South Indian Mtns, then back for the Trade Caravans coming from RC.

This all makes me think. Perhaps the LC Caravel should be the ferry, and the Cy Caravel the exploring ship. If the Indians attack again, we might want to move the Caraval into a city temporarily to promote a future celebration. I'd plan to celebrate for 3-4 turns every 10-15 turns.

Our reputation is Excellent.
I can't recall when we dropped from Spotless.
F3 Indians: Enthusiastic, Peace, no Embassy.
Btw, we are at War with Vikings and Spanish (Cadiz),
Peace with Persians (Bactra) and Greeks.

If we bribe their Cat $166, would any of that be affected?

We dropped reputation between 780ad and 860ad. We incited Cadiz and Bactra in that period, so I guess that's where our reputation went.

Bribe it!!
But then recycle-disband it in Monkes Towne while it builds
1 a defensive unit. We need one in every city!
2 a crusader.
