Hello,

I own the Civilization 3 complete edition which i have purchased from Retail awhile ago. The game installed and worked perfectly on my old computer which was a windows ME. However, I now own a windows XP computer and Civilization 3 complete will not install. When i load the Conquerors disc the installation is almost finished and i get and error message saying that the mp3 file IndMEFull could not be verified. The message asks me to verify that it is there. The error message also only gives me 2 options. I can either click retry and the error message will pop up again or I can click cancel and the installation will crash and quit. If there is any way you can please help.

Welcome to the forums Snoob!

Well, it sounds like you have a worn out disk. If its old enough to be installed on Windows ME, that means that the disk is REALLY old (in computer terms). The disk could also be a little dirty, you can try cleaning it by wiping from the inside ring to the outside. If that doesn't work, then most likely the disk has been corrputed.

I believe that the mp3 file is the only thing corrupted but if the disc happens to be then i am out of luck.

Even if it's one file, it won't allow you to complete the installation. What I would suggest trying is making an image of the disk, mounting the image in a virtual drive and installing from the image. Doing it this way sometimes fixes disk errors for me.

that sux snoob. SAme happened to me.
I had to buy Chronics which was over 70 bucks, just ta get another Disk1 that would run a clean install.

Funny after That I left my Civ chronics Disk 1 somehwere far away so pulled out the Complete' disc 1 again and tried er out

Worked like a charm. So only the install needs clean discs. That disc I thought was garbage got me enougher fixxin lol

My advice. Go to a bargin bin and but the cheapest Civ3 Vanniila you can find.
Install that then load up your xpak disks ontop, Wish i had tried that. Now I got 2 copies of civ4 I never use!
