Infinite Gold Exploit

What happened to the time where games were released in a finished state?

- "Here is your new car, sir."
- "Thanks but it's missing a door!"
- "We'll add the missing door in a month or two. But in the meantime it's still drivable, sir."

Which game was it that was released without a single bug, glitch, or issue? And when?

It's an issue yes but also one of the easiest fixes possible. They will drop the amount you get for disbanding the unit and that will be the end of it. That's most likely a very quick edit to XML. This is exactly the kind of small thing that can slip through an initial release.

This should definitely get fixed, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as Scythia's version of the exploit.

Scythia can sell horsemen from near the start of the game, but armies come pretty late. By the time I get armies, I usually have enough GPT that this wouldn't make much of a difference, and I'm already snowballing towards victory anyway.

It is getting worse and worse

And yet some people persist nothing is wrong with this release (because there is some kind of 'buggy game on release' legacy)

Clearly you are in the minority. Your post is so cliche, I have seen it almost every game that I dearly love and yet here it is again.

The game (IS) finished and it IS feature complete. It DOES have bugs and exploits, EVERY game has them upon release. My only advice Ironman is to never buy computer games at release, just wait several years and only play games that you feel are 'fixed' and 'complete' . I am <NOT> attacking you Ironman, its just I get so tired of the same old posts every time a game is released and it just gets old.

this, This, THISITY THIS.

As I said in another thread, is it too much to ask to ship a game with fewer features that actually work instead of lots of features that don't? If this were a car, a house, or a dvd player, mass recalls would've been issued across the board. Folks seem to think that this is ok since it's just a game/entertainment but it's still a product and money is changing hands.

Yes, with such players' attitude this will never change (unfinished releases).
Why Firaxis should care, if people don't?

BTW: The current state of game is one issue, how fast and smart they will react to fix it is another, now much more important.

Final BNW version is great improvement over Civ5 vanilla, but came after three years and is still not completely bugs and exploits free
