I'm running game now at turn 369 Inflation almost eat away half my economy, Im considering rolling back to Tribalism. I get the feeling that this is the same issue Vanilla BTS had before the patch.

It's on Emperor difficulty, running City States and moderatly advanced Civics in general, it is LAN Game with my brother. Check the screen for more details.

It was reduced in a patch - the newest version (k) should be softer in that regard. It breaks savegames, though (not surprisingly).

I forgot to say, it is the "K" patch. But I still find myself in game after game keeping my Science Bar at 30-40% after the early stages. I seem to never really get out of City States civic because the Maintenance that occurs just kills my economy.

I don't know, this might be normal and intended for FFH and just me being stuck in a particular game-play style but I think 148% Inflation during midgame sounds much.

PS. Where the heck did that Windows-bar come from in the screen? It wasnt visible when I took the screen :crazyeye:

ummm .... what your seeing is very common for "late game". iirc FFH is only supposed to be 400 turns long. personally i almost never see a game over 400. what unit types are you using?

what i have found for an enjoyable and challenging game.....

basic religions founded around turn 65.
order and veil founded around turn 100.
if you spec in a certain tree you should see T4 units around turn 300.
game should end around turn 350.

i just realized i play quick games.

let me ask a few other numbers so we can get a more solid picture though in this kind of case. what was your total beaker and gold amounts? how far were you in the economic tree? did you have open borders with people? how many trade routes per city did you have? how many cities total? what wonders did you have? did you have cities building gold or beakers?

jsut trying to help ... night night

I agree that inflation seems to be greatly increased, but I've had little trouble changing my style to compensate. It makes Domination victory a bit trickier, of course, and there is always the factor of raze vs. keep on capturing a new city. Once the AC is adjusted properly (it doesn't seem to be working the way it should lately, though it is getting better), things should clear up. Welcome cottage spammers! heh And if Kael and the crew decide to nerf the inflation rate a bit to make the game more like the earlier versions, I won't complain a bit. I miss having 40+ cities on a huge map with my science at 80, culture at 20, and mercenaries spawning all over the place.
