Init Python Fatal Error

I just finished installing BTS expansion pack and when launching the game I get a Fatal Error "Failed Initializing Python" message.

I have vanilla Civ IV and Warlords installed as well, both patch to the latest version. I've seen some previous posts that recommend uninstalling all versions, then resinstalling Civ IV, patch 1.62; then installing the BTS expansion.

I really would like to avoid uninstalling\reinstalling if at all possible. I can currently run Civ IV and Warlords without problem.

The PythonErr.log file shows the following:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 1, in ?

File "CvEventInterface", line 12, in ?

If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

My original CivIV and Warlords games were purchased online and the BTS game was from a retail store.

I solved the problem by uninstalling BTS and returning it to the store and then repurchasing and installing BTS online.

Everything works fine now. Evidently the retail and online versions are not compatible.

Hmm, interesting.
(Was going to suggest a mongoose might be the problem, until I remembered they only work against cobras...)
:p
