Install (shield?) error

When I attempt to install CIV IV BTS on my new Vista machine, the install starts (the part where it says something to the effect of "preparing" - just a small dialog box with a completion bar. It gets to about 90% and stops with a message that "install failed".

That's all... It does not even get into the step where it's actually installing the software.

My ID is an administrator. Or at least it says it is... (on the logon screen)

Just tried it again - It runs the installshield wizzard & gets about 90% on the progress bar and then another dialog box opens - it says:
Sid Meier's Civilazation 4 is not installed properly. Please reinstall and then retry the
Sid Meier's Civilazation 4: BTS installation....

I think that explains it.... Now I gotta find my Civ4 Vanilla disks!!

a admin account in vista does not have admin rights for all programs - you have to manually elevate the rights.

I try to install Bts and it starts the install, but gets to preparing the files box and then crashes no error message appears. I had some problems getting in and decided to reinstall. Before that I played it for many months. Now I can load the basic civ 4 but cant load beyond the sword.

Can anyone help?
