Installation Issues with Windows 7

Recently I had to upgrade to a new computer that runs Windows 7. All Civilization IV parts (original, warlords, etc.) worked without any issues on my XP. Civilization IV runs fine on my new computer but BtS is refusing to install. During installation it states that there is a newer version available and it will therefore attempt to install it. A minute later, it says that it has been unable to install the patch and that installation has been aborted.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

If it automatically checks for newer version, and you are given no option to stop that, just disconnect your Network-Connection so that the installer doesn't find out about this updates.
If the installer Asks if it should look for updates (iirc it does ask..), say no. It is recommended to not use the ingame update, instead use the standalone patches.
