Installation problems

Hey guys, i'm having problems getting this MOD into the right directory on my new iMac....this is my first mac and i'm lost using it as i have used a PC for the last 25 years. After extraction, where do i put the History rewritten folder? The only place i can put it is in the documents under MODS but that doesn't work.....Thanks and sorry for being dumb

You need to go to the location of the Beyond the Sword application (executable), which will most probably be in /Applications/Civilization IV/Beyond the Sword/. At that location there will be a Mods folder containing Afterworld, Gods of Old, Charlemagne, etc. That mods folder is the correct one to place History Rewritten in.

But how do i find that? The only place i can see anything related to Beyond the sword is under documents which doesn't work. I'm running the Steam version but how do i find the directory? I'm still thinking like a PC where I'm looking for a path, but i can't seem to locate it on my Mac......is it under launching pad?

When Finder is the current application (click the Finder icon in the dock, it will say 'Finder' in the top left of the screen, next to the Apple logo) there will be a menu called 'Go'. One of the options will be called 'Applications', choose that. It will open a Finder window showing all applications installed. Unless you've changed the defaults, there will be a Civilization IV folder there; from there you can follow the path described above.

There is no folder for civ4 or for steam, there is only the application icons that launch the game.....shouldn't there be a steam folder? Any clue why i don't have one?

Ok, finally figured it out.....i had to go to GO TO FOLDER and then manually input ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword/Mods/ . Thanks for the help!

Ah sorry, didn't realize you had the Steam version. That is indeed trickier to locate, glad you worked it out.
