Installed Patch 1.52, now won't start

The game was working fine, a bit slow, but working. I installed the patch v1.52 and now the came won't load up. I get the Civ IV box in the middle of the screen that looks like it is loading languages, but then it disappears and nothing else happens. Does anyone have a clue?

I got the same problem, installed the game and then me and a friend wanted to play togheter over the internet so i downloaded the 1.52 patch, and now it wont go further then the load screen.

Anyone got some kind of solution for this, kinda annoying not even getting in the game or even getting a error message!

EDIT: the game worked fine before the 1.52 patch.
