Installing older patch

Can anyone help me with installing a previous patch of Civ?

I've got Steam setup to automatically update Civ and to be honest, I've not had any issues with new versions but I'm trying to play an online multiplayer and it's not letting me because my version is not the same as a friend's.

They tell me they're playing on version .18 (the version before the fall patch). I'm hoping I can install that on my desktop so I can run either version.

Can someone tell me if this is possible, where I can find a download, and what else I might need to do. I assume I have to turn off auto-update on Steam?

You would have to force steam or firaxis to send you the patch you are looking for.

It would be "slightly" easier if your friend updated...

I completely agree. Apparently they experienced issues with multiplayer on the latest "fall" patch so found an old version...no idea where and they can't remember...joy!

Just upgrade! I play multiplayer all the time and don't have issues (ok...sometimes I do but they're minor).
