installing patch downloads?????

can someone please explain how to download and install a patch for civ.3 please? I have read about the patches, but not sure how t install when i download. any help would be appreciated. thanks.I have been playing this game for about 3 weeks and love it so far....still looking for my 1st victory, and have found many post here very helpful

It ought to be fairly straight forward - click on patch icon and let it roll. You can get the patch at infogrames web site. Also, I believe there is a link in the forums, check the first few threads under general.
