When i first purchased my copy of Civ Gold I downloaded the 1.3 patch but for some reason didn't install it.
Well yesterday i said "what the hell lets install it". I searched my hard drive until i found it - in a folder called "civpatch".
That must be it I figured so i copied the files to my civ gold directory. Well, I went to play the game and everything was all ****ed up... the menu options were all screwed.. like clicking on "defense minister" would bring up the "trade minister" box.. the save option and high council options were greyed out. Dumb stuff like that... and it had some wierd menu options such as "@World"
I was thinking.. "what the hell?" So i uninstalled the game, reinstalled it and went to try the patch again. This time though i looked at the DATE of the patch files.. they were OLDER than my game files. I'm like "whats going on here?"
Then i relized what patch i was looking at.. it was the damn 2.42 patch for civ 2 classic!
The 1.3 patch was stored somewhere else on my drive. hehehehehe
So everyone make a note: do NOT install the Civ 2 classic patch into your Gold edition. It will NOT work. hehehehehhe
