I hope to make the TC, just might be a bit late to it.
promotions
Hold all promotions unless otherwise directed in the unit movement orders.
Unit movements
I have included links to some screenshots that can be used if you are unsure about anything.

Warrior 3 (located north of German territory) Send him passed Berlin and south to the area of unexplored land. We are looking for the third German city. If you see a border area that indicates a third city, please explore that city area instead of continuing to the unexplored are. IF this warrior receives a promotion please promote him to Woodsman II. Please report any units of Germany that you see.

Ax ( located 1 tile north of Abydos) Move 1 square east(blue dot) then wait to see what barb does. Maintain this position until barb either moves to a square adjacent to the ax or adjacent to Abydos. IF he moves to a square next to Abydos, enter city to give a hand in protecting it unless you can attack him directly. After barb is killed move this ax to the northernmost hill east of the Abydos borders (pink dot) and fortify. Hold promotions. USe this ax to protect our southern and eastern borders from barbs. This is up to DP to view threats and react accordingly.

Ax (located outside of BW borders) Move 1 square SE and fortify on road for barb sentry. This ax is to be use to protect BW from any threats from its East or South. Use it at DPs discretion as to what constitutes a threat to BW.(light blue arrow and dot in screenshot below)

Ax (in BW) Promote to city raider 1. Move this ax to hill located NW of BW( 1 square SE of pigs) ( dark blue arrow and dot) Fortify for sentry duty. This sentry is to stay in this area for future settler/worker guarding and to protect MG and BW from any threats. It is up to the DP as to what constitutes a threat.

Ax.(N of Abydos borders-has Medic promotion) Move to Abydos for garrison duty. Control will revert to Abdyos’ governor at which time SoW will gain control of the warrior in Abydos that needs a promotion. ( cleared with governor last TC)

Warrior in Abydos ( promote to Woodsman 1) Any future promotions should be to woodsman II. Once relieved of garrison duties by ax-medic. If Open Borders is declared with Mongolia..explore Mongolian territory and disregard any further orders for this warrior. Otherwise, this warrior is to patrol as close as possible to Mongolian territory all the way to the sea. Please report any Mongolian units. Once this unit reaches the sea. Keep moving it south toward the Russia for exploration. Use the quickest path possible after following the Mongolian borders.

I dont believe any units will be built this TC. If any are built, hold promotions and move them towards Abydos.

Minister of the Interior Instructions

Continue roading to Abydos with worker near BW as long as the worker is safe.

When worker is completed at Abydos, pasture and connect horses then help complete road to BW.

The road to Boaring Wallow is to pass through the Wheat currently inside the Abydos cultural boundaries.

Any other instructions are left to the discretion of the DP. :)

Official Instructions from the Ministry of Science

I'm leaving in a few minutes for Memphis where I don't know if I will have internet access or not. (I'll have my laptop, but it depends on how much the internet costs in the hotel)

Unless the results of This Poll change dramatically in the next day, use the following instructions:
Switch to Drama immediately upon loading the save (math was put in as a placeholder). Then on the next turn check the trade window with Germany - if they are now willing to trade IW to us, trade alphabet for it. If not, switch the research to Iron Working and check the trade window every turn until he allows it to be traded. If he finally does let us have IW, resume research of Drama.

I have authorized the Deputy Science Minister Pajka to modify these instructions if the results of Science Poll 3B change. He is also authorized to answer questions and offer clarification based on these instructions. I will do my best to get internet access, but if I cannot he will assume the position of Science Minister until my return no later than March 11th.

President:

Maintain 90% science slider rate unless rate is lowered automatically by game mechanics, in which case maintain highest rate possible.

Upon completion of the worker training in Abydos, control of the unit is given to the governor of Abydos.

No further orders.

The TC starts while I'm at work. I'd love to attend, but I may end up catching only the tail end of it.

Secretary of State:

Wars: Don't declare any this turnchat. If declared upon, stop the chat.

Techs:

Give Germany Mysticism for Fishing.

Give Russia Mysticism for Archer.

General Relations:

Most Favored Nation: Russia. We will BEND OVER BACKWARDS for this nation! (BTW, if they request a tech that we have a monopoly on/potential bargaining chip (request = nicely, for a 'friend'), negotiate the deal to get into the diplomacy screen, then remove those techs.

Common Neighbor: Germany. We have normal trade relations with them, but we will outright refuse to gift anything.

Suspect Nation: Mongolia. Refuse any demand, and refuse any trades.

There is an exception. The people wish to sign open borders. The DP may do this for exploration purposes. If the Mongolians send a settler our way, cancel the open borders before the settler reaches our territory.

Turnchat log

Screenshots in the screenshot thread

The turnchat was an interesting one. The first turn held a couple of surprises becuase we could not in fact trade myst for archery to the Russians. It was decided to go ahead and trade them for fishing because of most favored nation status.

The next few turns went pretty much as expected. We killed the barbarian warrior who attacked Abydos from the southeast. We continued to build the road from Boaring Wallow to Abydos and we positioned our offensive units around our territory in such a way as to cut down on the possiblity of barbarians poping up near our towns.

At the beginning of Turn 4 Russia asked for writing as a gift which we refused and took a -1 reputation hit with Peter. Then during turn 5 we saw that Genghis was willing to trade Iron Working, Masonry, and Archery to us. After a protracted discussion it was decided to trade for everything we could get. We traded writing for archery from Genghis. Then next turn we traded Alphabet for Masonry and Iron Working. Our research switched from IW to Drama.

During this time we also signed open borders with Genghis. Our warrior/spy unit began exploring their territory. Saw a couple of mined hills, 3 archers in their capital, clams being harvested, and a road most likely leading to their second city. No iron or copper was apparent and no axemen/swordsmen were seen. Also, no horse units seen either.

Before the start of Turn 7 Genghis moved a settler/archer to within sight of Abydos. It seems as those this settler is moving toward the iron that was discovered 3 E of Abydos just outside our cultural borders. The cultural borders will not expand in time to claim this before the settler could found a city. It was decided to stop the turnchat and start a discussion about this situation in the forums.

We may have to go to war with Mongolia sooner rather than later to prevent them from getting the iron. They don't seem to have connected any offensive resources yet, but we cannot be sure until we explore more of thier territory. It is likely that in 1-2 turns our Mongol spy could explore to the point of determining if they have connected horses or any other war resource.

excellent work Bengeance. That was a tough TC, but you handled it well.
