Interesting News About Barbs

Another cool point. I have found out that if on higher difficulty levels (Emperor +) you get your thir city at the same time as your ennemies, barbs will blow you to HELL. Just try. Chop rush 2 settler early egnough ( 2000BC) and see the barbs burning your country to HELL.

I had also noticed something, but was not sure if it was true or not, and I just drew the connection.. I had a friend playing the Louix XIV and there was Catherine between us, and they were both getting pounded harshly by the barbarians.. both being creative had higher scores than myself, who was virtually left alone..

as a side note, the sentry of units to reveal all areas, and eliminated fog of war around your flanks is a very useful method, as some have mentioned.. I will always try to have clear flanks in all directions, and a united offensive towards the area that is beyond where I am likely to expand immediately to face oncoming barbarians

I've seen barb cities grow to 7 or even 10 in size, with aqueducts and harbors. They seem to keep up with whatever tech you have. Those big cities required musketmen to conquer them. Great reward when taken.

even keeping sentries out in the "fog" areas hasnt helped. the barbs come from over the "impassable" ice. they're a real pain and amongst the first things I'm going to tweak once I get around to modding.

I love barbs, By the time Archers come, i have plenty of Axemen hidden in the woods awaiting the free experience :D.

Also an axemen with woodsmen II promotion, can stop any babrarian invasion (till they get to rifleman.)
