As you've most likely inferred, the goal here is to share some of the most interesting maps the computer has devised for you to thrive or suffer on.

I'll begin: I had an standard-sized archipelago map lately where I began (by mere coincidence, as I chose to have all random civs [including mine] and did not have the "related nations begin together" option on) as Japan on a tiny island right by China. Regardless, most peculiar about this island was a thin peninsula of three tiles connected by a threadlike strain of land poking from the north end. On the final tile, of all things, was a cow - the cattle resource.

Sadly though, as I was preparing a settler to move out and take advantage of this resource with, American explorers - new to this part of the world - set up a home right on the cow. This, of course, was terribly distressing.

So I said moooove over.

Your turn.

60% Archipelago can sometimes give the most ridiculous landforms, as the map generator may "burp" and connect everything up, making the game a very snaky Pangaea instead - even to the extent of land wrapping all around the map.

I remember a game I played as the Dutch long, long, ago where this happened - sadly I no longer have the save around.

The Byzantines save here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=122419&page=2 gives you one of those strange 60% "archipelago" maps. You can see a landorm that looks like it should be a rather large like, but it's really just a stretch of coast squares with no sea or ocean.

The pangea map here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=296795&page=4 with *Spain* in it might also seem somewhat strange. Technically Madrid lies on a coast, but there's a small stretch of land which more makes that area into a lake.
