Hi,

I have been playing this savegame since v38 came out so for almost a year now, but now exactly with entering the information era (tech: information lifestyle) my interface no longer seems to work to an extent that the game is unplayable:

- the tech bar has vanished
- information on income and era has vanished
- the city screen does not let itself open properly anymore

Has anyone got an idea on how to save the game? I have attached my savegame.

Did you press alt+i?

Remember, that mod name MUST be Caveman2Cosmos and can't be in my documents.

It appears you are playing V38.1, where AI is brain dead.
Delete mod and get V38.5 and start new game, since we intentionally broke save compatibility on V38.5 (too many severe bugs were here).

That is your game is already lost and you missed update.

I tried alt+i. That's not it.

Mod's name is "Caveman2Cosmos" and I never changed that folder in any way.

I did not notice the AI being "brain dead". I have played for months now and waged a couple of wars. Seemed okay for me - and was a lot of fun.

Is there nothing I can do to save this savegame?

Yes, you should get V38.5 anyway - you play on outdated version.

I think 38 was incompatible with 38.5.
Sure AI was brain damaged but it was playable with its faults.

Unfortunately, in this case I have no idea what could be done to correct a problem with the interface nor why it would be happening BUT I do suspect that you're hitting an overflow problem with commerces which was resolved in 38.5. This means the current game is, sadly, probably dead because I don't think it's able to be updated to current assets and nothing can be done to retrofix the older game alone.

I see. Thanks very much for your replies. I will come back at some point to start a new game. This time with a space map.

And thank you very much for the mod. It is impressive how much work has been put into it. In my opinion it is the best civ version there is.
