How do you interpret the data when selecting an International Trade Route. What do I get vs what the other city gets. I tried searching the forum, but no luck.

Thanks,
Spike

Arrow to the left is what you get and arrow to the right is what you give. The thing that still baffles me is how you raise # of trade routes and range. I know Caravanary in Horseback Riding and Harbor in Compass help, saw something about Colossus and something else helping, and Era adds number of routes I think. What's a good link for all things BNW trading? Thanks.

Everything is explained in-game, although in a variety of places...

The number of trade routes are determined by
- the techs you have (there are 8 different techs that give you a trade route each)
- Colossus and Petra (1 extra route from each)
- whether you're Venice or not (double routes for Venice)

The range is initially short for ships and caravans alike, although longer for ships. It's increased by
- certain techs
- caravansary or harbor in originating city

Nothing more to it, really.

Thanks. Yea Petra, and I want to try Venice next game. I tried looking in game, but couldn't find anything with lots of trade route information other than checking every tech description. What I think is weird is how you can give food to another city but you don't lose it in the originating city.

Not only food, you can also send production if you have workshops. Very useful for world fair and international games times.
