I use my internet to listen to radio, and am always looking for more interesting stations.

The ones I chiefly listen to are:

http://www.wwoz.org/

New Orleans jazz+heritage radio 24/7

http://www.wcnj.fm/

America's only Indian music/bollywood station, erratic broadcast hours.

http://www.mediawar.com/euphonic/frameset.html

which is just downloadable sets of dj mixes from Holland, very nice to hear though.

I'd love to expand, as there are plenty of times when all three of these are down and or I get bored.

I use Yahoo!'s LaunchCast radio - its' great. I can listen to any song by most any artist, commercial free. I like it because it gives me an idea of what I should download too.

You set your preferences so you can listen to the artists you like.

For instance I have: Paul Oakenfold, Jurassic 5, the Roots, Tupac, Jimi Hendrix, Mariah Carrey, Audioslave, Nirvana, Chris Rock, and so much more. It's a variety of entertaining songs.

Jurassic 5! Now you are talking. You would like some of the mixes then on the third link above, their mix from 2 weeks ago now has an awesome remix of Quality Control.

Barnes and Noble's website (of all things!) used to have a great webradio with hundreds of choices but it fizzled out about a year ago.

I have a radio next to my computer, so I listen to it while I do stuff, there are a number of good Ontario based dance stations, but I cant remember what they are.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, keep them coming.

(I never would have survived the move away from New Orleans if I couldn't get their radio station on the internet. If you haven't discovered this asset to high speed connection and you don't live in the New York city area, you are missing out on a lot of radio options).

My wife listens to www.knac.com on a regular basis.

I will check out the New Orleans you mentioned since I am from near there originally myself.

animepornstar
www.shoutcast.com has some good stations.
Thanks anime! I've been looking for some good new Internet Radio stations for awhile now! And thanks Sultan for bringing it up (awhile ago) and special thanks to all the people who started Iraq threads that forced me to search back in time to find some interesting posts ;)

I needed a reminder not to post 24 hours a day as I was not getting enough done in real life. The Sultan was involved in too many scraps to back down and so we had to take him down.

Yep :)

Internet Radio. I'm all in favour. Thinking about starting my own small scale station one day. Currently involved in a hospital radio station and some of these are webcast (but not the one I present on).

Keep us posted on the progress of that stormerne. I definitely think internet radio is the wave of the future.

Right now, I am listening to www.radiok.org. Radio K is the University of Minnesota radio station. Very free form but a lot more professional than most college radio stations. Mostly underground style music of various genres. They are also stong supporters of our local music scene, giving exposure to many up and coming bands and rappers. The Village Voice once called Radio K "the best college radio station immaginable"

A great use of my tax dollars.

I like the classical music from shoutcast.
