Germany seems to be a civ that a lot of people like. Ottomans are good also. Here is a list (subject to change) that I will submit.

Germany
Persia
Aztecs
Persia

So democracy is not to be a part of this demo game? Shouldn't we be allowed to vote on this?

If that was a request or demand, consider it seconded.

For elections, we should hold them in 2000BC, 500BC, 500AD, 1000AD, 1500 AD, 1750 AD, and 1900 AD. What do you guys suggest?

Why don't we even the terms out a bit? Using your suggested election dates the terms would range from about 40 turns to over 120 turns!

Here's a list of suggested terms and election dates where each term is 54 turns long and we have elections that last 6 turns. Remember, we play one turn at a time and have to wait for all other teams to play before we go again. With a two day turn around time terms would last alittle over two months and elections would last almost two weeks.

Code:
Term # start election end
  1 4000 BC 1830 BC 1650 BC
  2 1625 BC 510 BC 390 BC
  3 370 BC 410 AD 470 AD
  4 480 AD 950 AD 1010 AD
  5 1020 AD 1370 AD 1400 AD
  6 1405 AD 1640 AD 1670 AD
  7 1675 AD 1814 AD 1826 AD
  8 1828 AD 1922 AD 1934 AD
  9 1936 AD 1990 AD 1996 AD
 10 1997 AD n/a 2050 AD

that works for me donsig, I was kind of winging it when I made the suggestion.

As for civs, the list was subject to change because I wanted to incorporate Citizen input. My suggestion that we vote on theses civs in this order:
Germany
Persia
China
Ottoman
Japan
Aztecs

I think a major problem is a forum. Where are we going to post all this info? Also is it possible to pass word protect the forum to prevent spying? Also if other forums aren't password protected, why dont we spy? hehehe....

That is a problem which I will adress in the discussion at 1BC, also, I will make a point of asking what size map we are playing.

Ansars are nice. I miss the defense point sometimes, but on the offensive the extra movement makes for a major advantage (kind of like the German Panzers, but without the Blitz...)

I don't think it will be a large map. I think we'll end up with no AI and about 6 teams. Probably a small map. Why don't we do a multi-choice poll and list all civs. Then we can take the top 5 or 6 vote getters and have a single vote run-off poll. Top two vote getters would be our first and second choices.

I almost missed this one. Count me in.

As for a private forum, we may have to seek refuge at 1BC, Gamecatcher, Apolyton, or even CDG.

If they are unwilling to sponser us, I have a friend who has some general forums. He may be willing to let us have a private forum.

CDG has volunteered to set us up some private forums as I have known one of the mods there (Kentonio) for a while now. Hopefully the forums will be up soon and we can elect our first advisors.

Moving away from CFC? I dunno...

We're not moving Plex. Just trying to put together a CivFanatics team for a PBEM demogame. If TF won't give us a forum or sub-forum we'll have to go elsewhere to play the game. :(

Ok, I just don't want to start using other forums in substitution of CFC regularly.

Don't worry, it will only be for the PBEM game.

Could someone give me a rough description of how this game would work?

Here it is in a nutshell, It will work kind of like a democracy game except that instead of playing AI civs, we will PBEM (play-by-email) with other civ sites. Each team will get their own private forums on their own sites (with the exception of ours, because TF won't give us a private forum). We make decisions in those forums and when the save is come to us, we play it. It usually takes about 24 hours per team.
