Interview with Firaxian Jesse Smith

i reckon the v button has something to do with the volcano early detection system the dude was talking about in the interview.

must gather every scrap of info i can, cannot go on eyes to weak  ;) just kidding

I think it would make sense if the inca "scout" actually is their warrior (why build ordinary warriors when you can build warriors with all as road?) and that they also can build ordinary scouts (which have zero attack, so that they can be inside the opponents borders). But just because I think this would be logical probably means that Firaxis will do something completely different. :)

Did you see this (in the magenta "ring")? I wonder why they would sometimes move the order buttons?

mrtn, you can do that now. I think it's the Backspace key.

Even if you could build the Inca scout, you'd still build warriors sometimes, because warriors upgrade to swordsmen, and scouts don't. In fact, it'd give you somewhat of a dilemma what to build in some cases.

Actually that IS a problem...

If the Inca Scout is 1.1.1* replacing the warrior and upgrades to swordman then that's not good, because even after I get swordmen I *still* would like to build these all-terrain explorers (and pillagers!).

Therefore the Inca scout ought not to upgrade to swordmen. But if they don't upgrade and they still replace the warrior then that would be extremely unfair because the Inca are then denied the swordmen rush strategy.

So you can't have them replace the warriors, either. The only solution I can see is indeed to not have them upgrade to anything (I'd say 1.1.1* is preferable even to the 0.0.2* explorer), that the Inca can build both warriors and Inca scouts and if they are expansionist (and AFAIK no-one's said that...) they get the normal scout and can build it too.

I would guess they aren't expansionist, though. Just because there would otherwise be too many "scouts" running around in the Inca land. :)

Back to the 'v' button.... What if it is one page showing the different victory conditions and where you currently are in completing them. In other words,
-you would have MapStat built in to show how close to Domination you are,
-Conquest could just show you how many Civs are in the world (not so helpful unless you are playing with a ton of them),
-Spaceship could just give you a quick summary of total number of parts completed for you and any competitors,
-etc.

Just a thought.

If the Inca are not expansionistic, that'd make them insanely good. They'd be more expansionist than expansionistic, plus have two more traits! That'd be far too powerful.

earlier in the thread a screenshot showed a new luxury/resource that many believed to be silver. rumor has it, it's actually stone...

MrGone, I think you're on to something. My money is on V for victory.

As for Stone, I'm under the impression it will only appear in some of the ancient scenarios.
