Into the Deep
Part I: Genesis.
China - Qin Shi Huang (Industrious, Protective)

4000 BC
We begin our journey through time in 4000 BC, one city (Beijing), against a vast landscape in every direction. My people are but a small tribe in the midst of a huge world, unexplored and unconquered. We wish to expand and dominate the world we believe to be ours, but are we alone?
2900 BC
Now we sit in the year 2900 BC, having mastered Archery and Hunting, and have expanded China's great borders to the southwest. We've met some kind villagers among the way, but have yet to meet another nation that can match the will of ours. But it seems as soon as our people thought such questions, the answers were discovered. I received a report from our scouts that they had discovered what appeared to be huge caverns within the surrounding mountains and hills. They examined these holes and determined they were, in fact, unnatural - a creation of man. Venturing on they were approached by soldiers and what appeared to be a opulently dressed man who called himself "Julius Caesar", emperor of the nation he calls "Rome". Alas, we are not alone.
2075 BC
How we could have ever thought to be alone? We have come in contact with many, many nations in the past and my people now understand that we are in the midst of a great competition. I pray to the Gods we fair well in it for the task at hand is, and will be, a difficult one.
