The "Into the Renaissance" scenario is by far my favorite thing about Civilization V. I have fond memories of blasting fleets apart with veteran ship-of-the-lines on my path towards the Richard the Lionheart achievement.

Now instead of always playing as the same 12 predetermined civs (plus invading overpowered Mongols) on a historical/random Europe map with scenario rules, players can now use any of the 43 civilizations on any map without scenario rules. Unique abilities, units, buildings, and improvements have been tweaked, downgraded, or replaced in order to fit into gameplay that ends in the Renaissance era. Medieval and Renaissance era technologies also take longer to research.

Changes in naval unit speed, embark speed, and unit maintenance cost from the scenario also come with this mod. Modifications to gameplay elements such as trade routes, World Congress, and espionage bring them in line with the Renaissance.

This mod is also up on Steam.

This mod requires Brave New World, but I may work on a version compatible with Gods & Kings when I get the time. A Vanilla version of this mod is not possible since it is based on something from G&K.

Here's some of things that I made into their own mods instead of including with the Into the Renaissance Tech Tree mod. I decided to make them separate since I did not want to force overpowered features onto players.

Amem to that, brother!

ItR is the single most underrated and underapreciated gem of Civ 5.

I love to play it with my own estabilished side goals, like rebuilding the Byzantine empire to its maximum glory: gotta beat Turks AND Ayyubids to fully control Anatolia, Jerusalem, Egypt and Cyrenaica; control all of Greece and the "foot" of Italy (planting a city south of Neapolis); control the Balkans and Crimea. It is HARD, but worth it.

Another nice thing to do: conquer Vienna as the Turks.

Few people rolepay and/or use their imagination... so sad...

More ON TOPIC: I will definitely download and play with your mod, congratulations and thank you very much!!
