We in the nation of New Plexia encourage the remainder of the Civfanatican nations to withdraw from the UN in response from the recent Labor Union resolution that is not only anti-capitalist, there are flat out communist ideals being imposed upon us.

Our tax rates have risen by over 412% and we refuse to have these communist, tree hugging resolutions being forced down our throat.

the NRI repuvlic has heard the plight of its fellow nations, and has decided to take due action- the NRI has added its endorsement to multiple resolutions to help spir on free trade, and re-build the economies of current, and former, UN nations.

The NRI has high hopes that these resolutions will pass, and offer a counter balence to socialist (not comunist) resoultion that has been passed.

The United Socialist States of Rising Shadow

The United Socialist States of Rising Shadow is a tiny, safe nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 60%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Pizza Delivery.

Crime is totally unknown. Rising Shadow's national animal is the viper, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the crown.

Currently the region of "The West Pacific" is in a state of Civil War. Respected nationstate Ketosh (known at CFC as SeleucusNicator) has enlisted several of Civfanatica's UN Members to join the battle on the side of the opposition party. They hope to speed the resolution of the conflict in favor of Erlenav.

(The established ruler of The West Pacific is Norion.)

By taking part in the revolution, Civfanatica's member nations hope to lay the foundation of a strong alliance with Erlenav.

The Commonwealth of Mojotronica has considered joining his fellow nationstates, but has opted against it. We trust SeleucusNicator to side with righteousness, but know too little about the political situation in The West Pacific to choose a side. And we fear that the war effort might backfire on those involved. We feel it's best to keep a low profile in situations like this -- there's no guarantee that Erlenav will prevail -- and as much as he or she might be a potential ally, Norion is going to emerge as an enemy. Once Erlenav takes the reigns of power, Norion will remain a threat unless banned. And banning of one's political rival makes one no better than the despised Francos Spain of "The Pacific" region.

So far Norion has taken the high road and has not banned Erlenav. If Norion does so, the revolution will suffer a major setback and be prolonged. If Norion does not, that speaks volumes of Norion's committment to democracy. If Norion does not but Erlenav does, then The West Pacific has simply replaced a democratic regime with a tyranny...

It seems to me that it there is no way to approach this war (as an outsider) without a significant downside. So we are opting out.

However, political coups are part of the fun of NationStates, so we don't begrudge anyone their involvement in it. We will do what we can to defend Civfanatica in your absence. You will always have a home there.

My two natins agrees with this line of tought

Aissisa is afraid that they might support the wrong side and create a tyranny, wich Is bad

Mojotronic dose not know the laws of the land in the west pacific- Norion is using propaganga- technically, the election in the region is not over yet- banning Erlenav would be illigal- but as soon as the election is truelly over, and if Erlenave dose not win, I expect it to be ejected from the region as a threat to Norions power...

at any rate, the NRI is supporting the action firmlly- it promises to be both benificial to our region if successful, and may help in the NRI's position on the topic of Franco....

Can you elaborate on the differences in the candidate's philosophies?

I looked at The West Pacific's website -- doesn't mention anything about the election. When is it scheduled to conclude?
