Iowa Class BB

And I thought you of all people would care about the little things that made the Default Civ 4 Battleship not an Iowa.. :p

Anyways, I am just getting images of the VIIC, and am not planning on doing any WWII battleships we have for a bit.. though about that other Iowa, it is always a possibility. :)

I was all excited when I saw the thread title "Iowa Class BB"... because I just knew Matt wouldn't do a model we already had but a new model of BB4.

Well if you're into making multiple versions of the Iowa, don't forget the Pre-Dreadnought version... for "yet another Iowa"! :p

P.S.
If you want to do "yet another" US WWII Battleship, you might try going for the Pennsylvania class... aka: the USS Arizona!

What about the USS Texas - it fought in both world wars... and it's on my list. A good compromise?

Yeah... get that VIIC going! German subs, German subs, German subs! :goodjob:

I think two were about the WWII Battleship Iowa... there were about four times as many about the Pre-Dreadnought Iowa and the rest about German subs, but who's counting?

New York class BB... not bad... anything is better then yet another Iowa!

As usual Snafu, I always look forward to your work... speaking of which, don't you owe us a French AMX30 or something?

Oh, and if you're busy doing a WWI mod, are you going to do any Helgoland, Kaiser or Koenig class dreadnoughts? That would be super-sweet to get a proper German Dreadnought. The earlier German dreadnoughts would be preferable because they look a lot differant (more dreadnoughtish) then later ones like the Bayern class which almost looks like a WWII battleship.

A nice early German dreadnought would get old Wolf worshipping at Snafu's feet...

It's down to the Kaiser or the Koenig class, though I'll likely make both eventually. It's a big eventually, one of them should be hitting the forums within a couple months, the other... who knows?

Yes, I still owe everyone the AMX 30 and Leclerc. Neither of them are up to my current standards, which is why they haven't been posted yet.

Darn... are you dead-set on that? The Helgoland class just screams "look at me, I'm an old WWI Dreadnought". By the time of the Koenig class, all the turrets are centerline... just like a WWII Battleship. The early dreadnoughts all had wing turrets, and the Helgoland had the classic hexagonal turret configuration with four wing turrets and two centerline... classic dreadnought design.

I would hope and pray for a Helgoland class dreadnought... but if you're dead-set against it, go for the Kaiser-class Dreadnought... at least it had two wing turrets. The Koenig class just looks like an early Battleship.

Oh, and on the subject of earlier is better, the Delaware or Florida class would be better then Texas... but those darn Americans built all their dreadnoughts with superfiring turrets... where's the fun in that?

Let me help put it in order for you in order of need...

1) U-Boat Type VIIC
2) Graf Zeppelin

Yeah i vote for this order :P

You did great job with Iowa :goodjob:

Cannot wait to see some more of Snafu's stuff, to reiterate, he does some amazing work.

So lots of different ideas being thrown around, hope they all come to fruition. :)

Yeah, I can imagine that being in any sort of armed forces is not the easiest way to feel energized after a day is done..

you do good work too
Thanks, I am working on it..

sweet. any other Navy Field fans in here enjoying this?
