Hello what do you guys think about this strategy for multiplayer?

Landed Elite, Monarchy.

Mining>Calendar>Writing> go for lumbermill Construcion, longhose, spam wonders.

I tried this strategy in single player just to test. And you get just insane amount of production. Even without Ironworks. If u get a spot with forest you will have number 1 manufacturing the whole game. Do you think its better to spam wonders or units?

Since doing a LE/NC strategy will keep me on the level in tech, do you think its a good strategy for MP?

Depends on the victory you're going for.
Units if you want a domination victory.
Wonders if you want a cultural victory.
I'd still recommend some units to keep people like me from conquering you while you build wonders :backstab:. Esspecally because the huge number of wonders in your city would make it a huge prize for conquering, so we can get the wonder effects.

How about instead of wonders early Mohawk Warrior spam? If you can outproduce your enemy you can probably win right? Do these lumber mills give you enough of an edge anyone knows?

Well, lumber mills aren't actually any better than mines. Civil Service/farms are the first good basic tile improvement (+2 food). Chemistry/mines are the next good tile improvement (+2 prod). Lumber mills/scientific method are the last good tile improvement (+2 prod).

Yes, you can try to get scientific method before chemistry, but chemistry generally comes sooner.

Now, the real difference here is longhouse vs workshop. Or rather, 1 hammer/used forest vs 15% production. With most cities, 15% production gives 2-3 hammers. So, longhouses are usually better when two forests are in use, and can be much better if as many as 5 cities are in use.

The real problem with this strategy is sacrificing the capability of chopping forests early, and the given tech path. Mining first, followed by no chopping will already put you behind. AH and Wheel doesn't come for ages.

Another problem is the 4tile/city limit. It becomes much more difficult to have forests connecting your cities, when 4tile seperation is necessary. Also, it becomes more difficult to efficiently use forests, when cities must be seperated from eachother.

When combining all these disadvantages/difficulties, and the reliance on forests, Iroquois becomes an intimidating prospect. However, if a lot of forests are around, Iroquois have many more good production sites than any other civilization.

Iroquois will really shine if they get a lot of forest/deer, combined with a granary -> NC start.

Joining in Smote's comment (after enjoying a MP Iroquois win), I would say the other challenge in using forests (even with a good start) is the fact that your cultural boundaries generally don't expand first to forest tiles, even when it would help you (Great Warpath trade route connection, more lumbermills, etc.). For this reason, I strongly suggest constructing cultural buildings and building Angkor Wat which should solve the problem.

I have also found (after many games as Hiawatha) that a plethora of forests is usually accompanied by a lack of food. This is not a problem necessarily, but if your strategies revolve around large mega-cities, a forested Iroquois city is not going to be your cuppa tea.

I agree that Granary and Landed Elite are hard to pass up due to the lack of food on most Iroquois starts, but I have had success with a pure Liberty start too.

in the early game phase u can also build 1 road between 2 cities. first tile wood, 2nd road and 3rd wood again. u pay 1/3 as every other nation and still get a tradenetwork bonus, not bad if u ask me. later on you can of course delete the roads.
