Is cheating okay?

No you're not.

Cheating... if you're playing against human players, only if they are able to easily aquire that same advantage you have, unless it's a very unfair advantage such as invinsibility or instant win or sumthin like that.. If it's against the computer, why not?

Cheating against other players is acceptable as long as they don't find out. Cheating by yourself denies any sense of accomplishment by beating a game but is fine if you just want to have fun.

In online multiplayer, it comes down to how much you like the other players.

If the other player is right next to you, like with Goldeneye or other older games, then it depends on how big the other players are.

That's not really cheating, though - it's just playing around with the game to make it more fun. I would only call something "cheating" if it gives the player an unfair advantage in beating the game.

There's a thin line though.

Back in the day, I used to play games like duke3d on the hardest difficulty, but use cheats to get all the weapons.

My reason? The harder difficulty levels had more enemies, and therefore more action and more fun. I wasn't good enough to do them honestly on the hardest settings, and if I played on normal mode, they weren't as fun because there was less action.
