Is Civ II Gold worth it?

I already have Civ II classic (version 1.0 no less; got it when it first came out), but I know that the other editions have additional features. But is it worth it to get the Gold Edition or Test of Time if I've already got Civ II, or would I just be wasting my money?

Hmmm I think that you might be able to get a copy of MGE for what $10 American? The true cost of that $10 might be waiting to see 2-3 movies and renting the tapes to watch on a VCR. I think that the time spent on playing the scenarios will greatly exceed the time spent on watching the movies...

Download the upgrades (for MP play if you can get opponents) AND buy a copy of MGE. It's worth having a spare copy anyway.

MGE has a more hostile AI, can you handle it? Of course you can! Go and buy it now! If you can't buy it (your question was hypothetical) you can patch your version up to MGE anyway, look here

I have an interesting problem. Now, if I hypothetically would want the patch and my Civ II cd has... well.. been damaged by most unfortunet accident, could I get that patch work with out the cd?
