or does anyone else find it difficult to spot uranium in forests on the map?

I was going for a space age victory but could see no uranium for spaceship part, till my son pointed it out.

I usually go over my terrain for a few minutes after i get the tech that shows each resource

Try Cntrl-shift-M to see only the terrain stuff. Not sure if that is C3C only or not. "N" will let you control seeing border and other things.

It's in Vanilla and PTW as well. i do that whenever a new resource is discovered.

as stated above, I think coal is the most annoying

one of the most critical resources, hardest to find, and most annoying to get/keep if you don't have it orginally because there isn't a great abundance of it

one of the earliest and most impoortant ones that in my last game, only 4 civs got was iron. its not hard to spot, but in the early game, i really have to stretch out for it

coal is way more annoying to spot.

Which led me to this forum! :D

Anyway, there are graphics mods out there (Snoopy's terrain mod is a good one -- there are several version, too). There's also a version that has little letter bubbles which help you identify what's on that particular tile. I've also done something similar with popheads so I know which citizen is of which nationality -- there's also one that shows if they're happy/content/sad.

i think that snoopy's looks wierd.

i dont know who made it, but the one used in 'The Great War' mod. i think the mountains are really good there

Why dont you just check the City window for connected resources? Unless it is unconnected, It should show.

You answered your own question. If it is unconnected, it doesn't show up, and you have to visually scan all of your domain (and sometimes the AI domain) to figure out if its accessable. Coal doesn't show up well because its a tiny icon that usually blends in with its terrain type (mountains, jungle esp.)

yeah on civ complete i have found a way to help, use the clean map option and set forests to hide on the clean map, this should help
