Okay this is a thread ive been thinking about...is it possible to mod Civ3 sooo much that it is exactly like Civ4?... I dont think so so I vote no...but is it?

It is not possible, since we don't have the source code. And we don't wan't it to be like Civ 4, we're trying to enjoy our Civving.

...Wow Alcosta I just say the screen and there you were... do you got DSL/Cable?...

No, if it was, there was no need for Civ4 at all.

There are many hard coded things, that's why we can't. There have been numerous attempts to get the source codes or patches or new editors for Civ3. None of them was successful.

... yeah maybe soo... codes, triggers.... but maybe we will one day break the code!..... Now I wonder...if Civ 1 could be like Civ 4...is it possible? (JK lol! )

We can't break a code we don't even have access to.

No, they couldn't. The code is in a Top-Secret Facility somewhere, presumably in Baltimore, Maryland.
...Well ive seen a movie where the guy like break into the Gov. Comp. and changes the President's name...

If somebody stole it then the sourcecode would be over the internet so fast your head would spin.

All they gotta do is steal it and upload it and its irreversable.

Excellent... I will make the president's name into... Joe Momma!      ... OO crap my evil plan is revealed... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I think making a civ3 mod that plays just like civ4 would be a good idea; it would run faster because it wouldn't be "3-D."

The best you could do is try to immitate Civ IV. Civ III can never be modded to be exactly like Civ IV.

Yes it's possible.

What you need is the source code from civ IV. Delete the code for civ III. Paste the code from civ IV. Ta-da.

Or rename civ IV civ III and civ III civ IV... (That sentence/fragment looks really incorrect and it looks like there should be some sort of punctuation there, but if you say it, it makes perfect sense... :hmm:)

If you put a 'to' between the Civ IV and Civ III, and vice versa, it would be more grammatically correct.

And I only bring this up because you said something first. ;)

Yes I agree... It needs to be Grammatically correct...so it sounds right when people read it in their heads... Tomoyo..

Actually, we frown upon spelling/grammar nazi's. Which is why I said I only bring it up because he brought it up first. ;)
