Is it possible to save a MP-game (like in Master of Orion II)?

We played PTW in LAN, but we couldn't join to a saved game afterwards... I think there should be same kind of saving option like in MOOII, if there isn't yet...

Yes it is. Just save it as you normally would in a regular game, and load it when you have everyone that was playing before back, ready to play again. Last night, my freind saved it, couple turns later my comp crashed, and i was playing the same game minutes later since it was saved!

BTW, Welcome to CFC! :D:D:D

Well, didn't work yet. Should everyone in the game load it at same moment or what?

uh, only the person that saves it should load it. That means the host. You have to be on the internet, make a room, have the host go to the staging window (which means launch) and load the game from there.

Everyone should refrain from typing anything while the host loads. Seems thia is still a delicate operation.

I have seen it done successfully.

You may notice that players enter the Multiplayer Setup in a different order than they did when you previously played. In this case, you'll notice that player A might be listed as player B.

i.e. the first time you started a 3 person game, it was like this:
Player1 -- Civ1
Player2 -- Civ2
Player3 -- Civ3

But, upon reloading, Players 2 and 3 entered the room in a different order. So, it's like this:
Player1 -- Civ1
Player3 -- Civ2
Player2 -- Civ3

You don't have to leave the Multiplayer Setup screen to get it right. Each player has a number to the left of the player's name in a square. The player will see a red square around their own square. They can click on it until the civ matches up properly. I think the host can do this for all players (but, I've never hosted).

You'll want it to end up looking like this:
Player1 -- Civ1
Player3 -- Civ3
Player2 -- Civ2

The same approach can be used to allow a player switch civs, or to take over an AI civ (i.e. if they get eliminated).

When you reload and replay a game, can you make it have a password (without the original game having a password, and I assume that you would tell the people the password right before you save and exit the game), to make sure that only the original players join? Or is a password somehow unnecessary?

Saving and reloading will probably be the only way that I could ever finish a MP game, so I hope I'll be able to work it out...

The password just locks the pregame lobby

When you reach the "GameLobby"? you have the option to Load Game.

There are three lobbies you pass through to get OnTheMap.

Multiplayer Lobby...Where all the Trolls hang, I mean Chat is. And you can set password? Also where you go Direct Connect from.

Staging Window..."...allowing Players to syncronise..."

Multiplayer Setup...Game Settings and Load game option.

I'm not sure that's possible. If you are going to have to tell everyone the password anyway, perhaps you could just play a Direct IP game.
Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. I guess that's what I'll do; instead of telling the players a password during the original game, I'll just tell them my IP address.
