It would seem as though Steam has run out of steam these past two days... (ba dum ching)

On a more serious note, it doesn't seem to be solely Civ5 related, as the "steam users online" graph took a "ski jump" dip yesterday... Either that or Civ5 is more popular than anyone realizes. I'm seeing another ski jump dip that took place during 10am-12pm today.. not sure if that's PST for steam or not, or if it lags in data reporting.

Its up and its down, its on and its off, I wont let me play civ5 today and that's a shame.
