Is the 7-1 patch playable?

It is reasonable to decide to wait to play it until certain criteria are met.

It is reasonable for the developer to work on it on his own time as he sees fit.

It is unreasonable to expect the developer to do anything on a timeline, or demand anything in particular.

The mod is as is, if you choose to play it or not is up to you.

And in my analysis, the mod in it's current form is playable. It is the most accurate mod that exists, if and that isn't playable, then no mod is playable.

100% agree.

Course you, foul demon, for showing the bug to us all. ;) (remember? or wasn't it you? EDIT: just checked, it was you)

Anyways, where is the demand that you and G are referring to? Where is it?

All your points are true, but since when is asking about a bug forbidden, or akin to demanding? Since when?

Anyways, let's stop it.

Asking about a bug isn't an issue. Tone matters in interactions with people, and they will evaluate how to respond to the tone as they see fit. Humans being humans after all.

What you generally don't see when looking at a single interaction is the 100s of interactions that a developer has along the same line. It's not a communication in a vaccum, and a developer will often become quite defensive when you consider all the time they put into corrections, only to have a minor issue be called "unplayable".

You may feel that is unreasonable. I certainly did before I was a developer. Once you become one though, you have a different perspective.

Just my view.

Funny. I AM a developer. Anyways, as I said, let's stop it. OP has long disappeared, and I feel I am defending someone I don't even know because... I don't know.:lol:

Still, course you foul demon for showing the bug in your video. (I liked that phrase, as you can see)

Demanding attitudes. That's what I said. And this is the definition:

"Demanding: requiring or claiming more than is generally felt by others to be due."

Requiring perfection in a mod that is constantly under development is, in my opinion, demanding.

'Let's stop' it generally means you stop responding, not that you need to have the last word :D.

I have no idea how you feel about it personally, G, but one thing that ticks me off is the "I'm not going play until you fix this"-attitude. You're absolutely free to feel that way and act that way, but saying it feels a whole lot like a demand, even if you actually don't have the power to demand anything.

Then you, more than anyone understand how it's important to be measured in your responses concerning issues.

Yes, but I also understand that being on the defensive all the time (as many in the industry do by default, as if it were some sort of culture: the "NO" culture) is a sure way to a bad product. Bugs are a given, no matter how much effort you put into your piece; the sooner we realize that, the more open we can be, and the less defensive.

So, yes, I understand, but from a slightly different point of view from the traditional IT Castle defensive block.

Certainly what you say is true, but I don't think it's reflective of CBP. I've seen the opposite from G, and the product reflects that based on your sentiments.

No, "let's stop it" means "let us all stop it now, because it is useless". Can you?

Oh nonono, you were talking in general, I responded about the industry. G is not the industry, and VP is not a product (or else he would charge for it... maybe he should?).

Is it the fault of the week or why is every thread escalating at a specific point, it's like coming into a Bud Spencer and Terence Hill fight that rose after some time..

It was all worth it to learn you released your texture mod. :)

No, what you're doing is what you tend to do: try to get under Gazebo's skin whenever possible, then raise your hands and say "Ha ha, just kidding, lighten up!"

At first I wondered why, but now that you've mentioned you're a developer twice in one week, I think I've got my answer.
