Hi all,

It's been a few times that I haven't been able to explore further because an AI worker blocks my path in a narrow passage.

Is the AI smart enough to do this with purpose to stop me exploring?
I would stay it's stupid because I could get the worker easily, but in this case... I'm quite outnumbered.

More likely the AI doesn't want to use the builder at the moment so it's not moving it but who knows really.

In those moments 1UPT is really frustrating.

Yeah, unless you are at war I feel the game should allow different unit types from different civs to share the same tile.

Had a similar problem with my last game where there was a narrow chokepoint between me and Hunza (a narrow coastal strip between mountains and sea). Natually, the moment my exploring warrior makes it past Hunza, a barb camp spawn in the chokepoint. Well, no worries, I'll just send my exploring warrior back up north to deal with this...

Except Hunza had parked a full health warrior one tile down from the camp. Not moving, not attacking, not nothing, just preventing my warrior from dealing with the Barb camp altogether. And the mountain range in question stretched unbroken across the whole continent, so no other easy way back to the capital (or that barb camp) either.

i did end up clearing the camp, of course, from the other direction, but that little sheananigan from a city state actually crippled my expansion (that and the sheer number of camps near me) and I eventually just called it quit on that game.

I swear there is a script running where if I select a tile for one of my settlers to Go To, every CS unit on the continent will immediatly beeline to that tile and sit there

EVERY TIME

Seriously, if I move my settler one move at a time it’s fine

As soon as I pick the Go To option....

Just park one of your units on the selected spot beforehand: a scout, an idle warrior, horseman, etc., to secure access. "Go to" option? On 1UPT, in Civ VI? Very... optimistic :)

Ya I eventually learned to park a “valet” warrior on a favoured spot

Usually when I settle the map is empty enough that UPT isn’t an issue. And honestly sometimes the wacki hijinks of the routing in hilarious, like the Multiple Uneccessary Embarkings
