Hi everyone!
I been playing civ4 a while and the most annoying thing is that game has to finish in 2050. Needless to say that by 2050 I'm only ready to start conquering the world for real. Is there a mod to prevent that? It'd be cool to have no time/turn limit whatsoever. Would also be cool to have all technologies available without having them linked to time period, i.e. to have atomic energy and such in middle ages with sufficient amount of research.
Thanks.

Alright, it seems that I will figure this xml stuff quicker than get an answer here. Thanks.

This is the section for discussion about the Mods that came with Beyond the Sword. Usually questions here are specific to one Mod.
But to answer your question...
Click Custom Game instead of Play Now! and uncheck "Time" in the Victories column on the right. At the top are the Civ/Leader choices and difficulty level, and the left has all the map generation options. The center column contains lots of other options for customizing your game. In my opinion, this is a faster way to start a game because everything's on one page, in addition to lots more customizing options.

PLAY NOW! is a lot faster actually. You set your options and get playing. Custom Game is for those who want to specify exactly what they want out of it. Like I do...

Yes, but you still have to choose your civilisation in Custom Game, and before BTS, map settings were not saved, making it annoying when you wanted to play a similar gametype to your last

I always use custom game anyway. Just putting in my two cents about those poor people who don't have BTS. Please get it! You'll see how much your game is saved by it!.

I spell it civilisation, because I use the British terms for spelling stuff (or is it called Commonwealth English?)
But I still pronounce Z as zee. I don't like this "Zed" stuff

Well, i gotta say that the title of this thread took my attention.

I would like to know too if there's a way to end a game much later than 2050, or even better, to put up a cultural victory up to like 250000 cultural points for like, five cities??

In other words, is there a MOD that allow us to tweak the victory parameters?? If so please help me, i'll be a gentle vassal for you after!! ;)

(btw, i know i can customize a game but we can't customize the victory parameters!)

I love Looooong cultural game, i love to play like 40 hours on the same game!

Thanks for those who can help us!!

I think you should be able to set the custom victory (custom game option) to no time victory. Even still, you can play past 2050. Just select "Keep Playing".

Hi Moderator!!

Yep, i know all of this! I surely know how to play over 2050, or with the Marathon time option, cultural victory is a long way...but, i would love to officially end a game in ...the year 3000 or customize the domination victory to 50% of world map or, ...see? just customize the various victory condition.

The best way i figured until now is to set only a diplomatic victory, race to build the united nation and never propose a diplomatic victory!! :) but still not satisfied me.

And all of what goes after 2050 doesn't count if i use the time limit...even if iknow that i'll have a bad score for playing loooong games! :)

But thanks for your answer and concern!

Peacefully yours.

...maybe it's not the a good section to talk about this??

you can edit the Civ4GameSpeedInfos.xml file under .../Assets/XML/GameInfo

There you will find headings for the game speeds, Marathon, Epic, Normal, and Quick. You can edit there how many total turns until time victory, and edit that accordingly. You may have to do a bit of math or something to find out how many more turns it will be from 2050 to 3000 for the different game speeds.
