Is there a "patrol" command for units?

Does Civ4 or the expansion packs include a "patrol" command that allow you to set waypoints? I seem to recall this command in a Civilization knock-off game that included this command and wondered when it would appear in the Civ world.

I'd love to see this feature as well!

Perhaps a neater use of the "patrol" feature could be that you can create a specific route using the shift-move function and then save that route for future units to pick up later (kind of like a build queue for cities, except we're talking movement route queues). You could have your chariot patrol your border with a nearby adversary, and when you want to put a 2nd chariot on the same route to increase its effectiveness, just press Shift-Alt-1 or something like that to put that unit on "Patrol 1."

And as I'm a fan of naming things (my cities, my units, my WORKERS even), you can name your patrols, such as the "circle my nation" patrol, or "Western front," etc...

On an unrelated note, I'm such a big fan of naming things, I might even start using the sign mode (Alt-S) to start naming landmarks on my map (Panama Canal, Suez Canal, Sherwood Forest, etc...) just for the fun of it :crazyeye:

well the Alt+S function is incredibly usefull for dotmaps etc. especially in mp. You can set rally points though i don't remember how, anyone know? So units will move wherever you want them to right out of the city. I imagine you can use shift to give more complicated instructions as well.

Select the city that is producing the the unit by left clicking on the city bar (this causes it to glow). Then shift+right click on the square where you want units to go after they are built. You can set a rally point like this for multiple cities at the same time by selecting multiple cities (shift+click on city bars). You can also select all your cities on the same continent (ctrl+click on city bar) or all your cities in the world (alt+click on city bars)
